Prayers pour in as Pawan Kalyan’s son Mark Shankar injured in Singapore school fire
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s younger son, Mark Shankar, sustained injuries in a fire accident at his school in Singapore. The incident, which broke out on campus, left Mark with burns on his hands and legs, along with smoke inhalation. He is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Minister Nadendla Manohar confirmed the incident and said that Pawan Kalyan's son was injured in the Singapore school accident. One person died and 15 others were injured in the incident. He also thanked the school staff who saved Mark Shankar and said that Mark is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressing concern on platform X, said, “I am concerned about the injuries sustained by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s younger son, Mark Shankar, in a fire incident at a school in Singapore. I pray to God for his speedy recovery as he undergoes treatment at a hospital there.”
Governor S. Abdul Nazeer also expressed concern, wishing “a speedy recovery to Master Mark Shankar, who is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Singapore after sustaining injuries in a school programme.”
Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy also expressed on X stating "I am shocked to learn that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Sri Konidela Pawan Kalyan's son, Mark Shankar, was injured in an accident at a school in Singapore.I wish him a speedy recovery."
Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma and Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh conveyed their prayers, stating they were “deeply concerned” and hoped for his swift recovery.
BJP State President Daggubati Purandeshwari posted on X, “I am shocked to hear about the fire incident at the school in Singapore in which Pawan Kalyan's son, Mark Shankar, was injured. I pray to God for his speedy recovery.”
HRD Minister Nara Lokesh shared, “Shocked to hear about the fire accident at a school in Singapore in which Pawan Kalyan Anna's son, Mark Shankar, sustained injuries. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. Strength and prayers to the family during this tough time.”
At the time of the incident, Pawan Kalyan was on an official tour of Alluri Sitarama Raju district. Upon learning about the fire, officials and leaders advised him to immediately suspend his schedule and travel to Singapore.
However, Pawan Kalyan clarified that he had committed to visiting Kuridi village near Araku to interact with tribal residents. He said he would first fulfill his promise and attend scheduled development programs before heading to Singapore.
The Deputy CM is expected to reach Visakhapatnam after concluding his tour and then proceed to Singapore. Travel arrangements are being made for his departure.
