ACB investigating irregularities during 2019-24
Former AP I&PR Commissioner Vijay Kumar Reddy appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for a second day of interrogation in Guntur. Following an eight-hour questioning session on Wednesday, ACB officials summoned him again due to his alleged non-cooperation.
During his tenure under the previous YSRCP government, Vijay Kumar Reddy reportedly allocated Rs. 859 crore in government advertisements, with half of the amount going exclusively to Sakshi Patrika and Sakshi Media. The rest was distributed to media organizations supportive of the YSRCP.
The ACB's investigation is based on a vigilance report alleging misuse of government funds between 2019 and 2024. Officials are probing the motives and orders behind these irregularities, but Vijay Kumar has reportedly remained unresponsive to key questions.
The interrogation continues, with the ACB determined to uncover details about the alleged embezzlement and favoritism in media fund allocation.
