TGPSC Issues Defamation Notices to BRS Leader Rakesh Reddy

Telangana Public Service Commission sends legal notice to BRS leader Rakesh Reddy

Alleges false accusations over Group-1 results and demands written apology

Warns of defamation and criminal cases if no response is received in a week

The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has issued defamation notices to BRS leader Rakesh Reddy over his recent remarks on the Group-1 examination results. The Commission strongly objected to Reddy’s statements, which it termed as baseless and defamatory, and demanded an immediate retraction and public apology.

In the legal notice, the Commission stated that Reddy’s allegations questioning the integrity and transparency of the Group-1 recruitment process were entirely unfounded and intended to mislead the public. The TGPSC emphasized that the selection process was conducted with the highest level of fairness, adhering strictly to established norms and procedures.

The Commission further warned that if Reddy fails to respond within a week, both defamation and other criminal proceedings will be initiated against him. It stated that damaging the credibility of a constitutional institution without evidence constitutes a serious offense and will be pursued legally if not addressed responsibly.

Sources within the Commission revealed that this is part of a broader effort to protect the institution from politically motivated attacks that undermine public trust. The TGPSC has been under increasing pressure in recent weeks after results of the Group-1 examinations were announced, with opposition leaders raising allegations of irregularities.

Rakesh Reddy has yet to respond to the notice or provide any proof to support his claims. Legal experts say that if he does not issue a retraction or submit a reply within the stipulated time, the Commission is well within its rights to proceed with both civil and criminal cases.

The TGPSC has reiterated its commitment to transparency and has urged public representatives to act responsibly while making statements concerning constitutional bodies.
