Telangana is set to host the 72nd Miss World competition in Hyderabad, with an estimated budget of ₹54 crore, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced on Thursday. The cost will be equally shared between the Telangana government and Miss World Limited, with the state's ₹27 crore contribution being raised through sponsorships.

The event, scheduled from May 7-31, will see participation from 140 countries, making it one of the biggest international events hosted in the state. Minister Jupally Krishna Rao emphasized that Miss World 2025 is not just a beauty pageant but a platform to celebrate women's aspirations, resilience, and achievements.

Addressing a press conference alongside Miss World Limited CEO Julia Morley and Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková, the minister highlighted how culture plays a crucial role in shaping India's global image. He noted the increasing global interest in Telangana’s traditions and festivals, further establishing the state's influence on the world stage.

“The women of Telangana have always been pillars of progress, excelling as leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers. This event provides a platform to honor and support the courage of women worldwide,” he added.

With Hyderabad gearing up for this grand event, the state is expected to receive international recognition, boosting its tourism and cultural prominence.
