KTR Praises TDP and NTR, Recognizes Their Contribution to Telugu Identity
- KTR acknowledges TDP and BRS as long-standing Telugu parties
- Credits NTR for giving Telugus a unique identity
- Compares NTR’s Telugu pride with KCR’s Telangana movement
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) praised TDP founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) for bringing a special identity to Telugus. Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the BRS Silver Jubilee celebrations, KTR stated that two political parties—TDP and BRS—have successfully represented Telugu people for decades.
He recalled that before NTR, people from the region were often mistaken for Madrasis, but it was NTR who boldly declared the distinct identity of Telugus in India. KTR credited the late leader with establishing Telugu self-respect through TDP, a party that played a crucial role in shaping Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
Drawing a parallel, KTR said that while NTR fought for the pride of Telugus, KCR fought for the existence of Telangana. He praised KCR as a visionary leader who, from humble beginnings, built a movement that ultimately led to the formation of Telangana.
KTR described KCR as a leader who created a political tsunami and achieved Telangana by risking his life. He highlighted how the BRS has emerged as a key force in the state's politics, shaping its growth and governance over the years.
