Minister Sitakka’s Strong Counter to KTR’s Allegations
Sitakka counters KTR’s budget criticism
Says people complained only when packages were taken to other states
Calls Congress budget a "100% welfare budget"
The Telangana budget has sparked a heated political exchange, with Minister Sitakka strongly countering KTR’s allegations. The BRS leader had accused the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government of running a 40% commission regime and sending packages to Delhi. Responding sharply, Sitakka retorted that people only raised concerns when packages were carried to neighboring states.
Hitting back at KTR, she questioned whether it was KTR or KCR who had been involved in such practices in the past. She mocked the BRS leader’s comments on state debts, calling it the "millennium joke," and accused the previous government of burdening Telangana with massive debt.
Sitakka defended the Congress government’s budget, stating that it was 100% realistic, prioritizing welfare for women, farmers, youth, and marginalized sections. She emphasized that, apart from the social welfare department, the highest allocations were made to Panchayat Raj and rural development.
She also highlighted the ₹600 crore allocation under the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme, aimed at supporting landless laborers. The minister further stressed that despite financial constraints, the government had given high priority to its six guarantees, ensuring economic security and increased opportunities for women.
Sitakka asserted that the budget focuses on strengthening the Indira Mahila Shakti Scheme, creating more business opportunities for women, and driving inclusive development.
