Botsa Satyanarayana Urges Marri Rajasekhar to Reconsider Resignation

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YCP) suffered another setback as party MLC Marri Rajasekhar announced his resignation from both the party and his legislative post. This comes in the wake of the party's heavy defeat in the recent elections, triggering a wave of resignations.

Following Rajasekhar’s decision, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarayana urged him to withdraw his resignation. However, sources suggest that Rajasekhar has not responded to Botsa’s appeal.

With this latest resignation, the number of YCP MLCs who have quit the party in recent times has increased to five. Earlier, Pothula Sunitha, Jayamangala Venkataramana, Balli Kalyanachakravarthy, and Karri Padmasree had also severed ties with YCP.

Reports indicate that Marri Rajasekhar was displeased with the appointment of former minister Vidadala Rajani as the party’s Chilakaluripet in-charge. Following her appointment, he reportedly distanced himself from party activities, culminating in his resignation.
