Miyapur police register cases against 25 celebrities, including top Tollywood actors
The Telangana police have taken a serious stance against individuals promoting illegal betting apps, escalating their crackdown in the Telugu states. Following an initial investigation into eleven celebrities and social media influencers, the Miyapur police have now booked cases against 25 more individuals, including popular actors and YouTubers.
The latest action was initiated based on a complaint from Pradeep Sharma, leading to cases being filed against Tollywood stars Daggubati Rana and Vijay Deverakonda, along with several well-known personalities like Prakash Raj, Manchu Lakshmi, Praneetha, Srimukhi, Ritu Chaudhary, and anchor Shyamala. Others named in the case include Neetu Agarwal, Vishnupriya, Varshini, Ananya Nagalla, Siri Hanumanthu, Vasanthi Krishnan, and several digital content creators.
As the investigation progresses, Tasty Teja appeared before Punjagutta police on Tuesday, while anchor Vishnupriya was questioned on Thursday. Reports suggest that YouTubers Harsha Sai and Pareshan Bhai Imran have fled to Dubai to avoid legal action.
With police intensifying their probe, further summons and legal proceedings are expected in the coming days.
