Red Corner Notice Issued in Phone Tapping Case
Red Corner Notice issued for key accused Prabhakar Rao, Shravan Rao
Telangana police in talks with Union Home Ministry, CBI, and US authorities
Possible deportation from the US under process
In a major development in the Telangana phone tapping case, a Red Corner Notice has been issued against Prabhakar Rao and Shravan Rao, the main accused. This case has not only created ripples in Telangana but has also drawn nationwide attention.
Following the issuance of the Red Corner Notice, Telangana Police is coordinating with the Union Home Ministry to bring the accused back to India. The police have also contacted the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to expedite legal proceedings for their deportation. The CBI, through Interpol, has received the notice details from Telangana CID.
Reports suggest that a provisional arrest might take place in the US soon. If detained, Prabhakar Rao and Shravan Rao may be deported to India through a legal process. However, the accused have reportedly sought political asylum in the US, alleging that the case against them is politically motivated, which may lead to legal challenges.
With a Lookout Circular (LOC) already issued, the accused will be detained upon their arrival in India. The Hyderabad Police, in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, is preparing for their extradition. If brought back, the investigation into the illegal phone tapping case could take a political turn, potentially exposing the masterminds behind the operation.
Authorities have already recorded statements from former police officers Praneeth Rao, Bhujanga Rao, Thirupathanna, and retired OSD Radhakishan, who were arrested earlier. With Prabhakar Rao and Shravan Rao considered key conspirators, investigators believe that their interrogation could reveal deeper political connections. The latest developments have heightened anticipation over possible political involvement in the case.
