Telangana Cabinet Expansion Likely on April 3, CM Seeks EC Nod
Cabinet expansion expected to add four new ministers
CM Revanth Reddy seeks approval from the Election Commission
Oath-taking ceremony slated for April 3 at Raj Bhavan
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to expand his Cabinet on April 3, pending approval from the Election Commission (EC). The expansion will likely take place despite the ongoing Model Code of Conduct due to the upcoming local body MLC elections scheduled for April 23. The CM is seeking the EC's consent for the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan, as the code is currently in effect in Hyderabad.
The expansion is expected to see four new ministers inducted, although there is speculation that all six vacant positions might be filled. The names of the new ministers have not been disclosed, and the Congress party has kept the selections confidential, with intense competition among MLAs for the coveted Cabinet spots.
The CM met with Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in a closed-door meeting on Sunday, where cabinet expansion plans were reportedly discussed.
