BJP’s Laxman Slams Stalin Over Delimitation Remarks
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Laxman has lashed out at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, accusing him of making provocative remarks in the name of southern states regarding the proposed Lok Sabha delimitation. Laxman alleged that Stalin is misleading the public by creating unnecessary fear and fueling regionalism for political gains.
His comments come after Stalin held an all-party meeting in Chennai, where he warned that the reallocation of Lok Sabha seats based on current population figures would severely disadvantage the southern states. "If the delimitation is done this way, we will have to live as citizens who have lost political power in our own country," Stalin stated.
Countering these claims, Laxman argued that the BJP is not discriminating against any region and accused the Congress and BRS of misleading people for electoral gains. "The Congress and BRS are working hand in hand for their own political survival. The Congress is conveniently ignoring corruption during the BRS regime, including issues like phone tapping and irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project," he said.
The debate over delimitation is heating up, with southern leaders raising concerns over political representation, while the BJP maintains that the process is fair and constitutionally mandated.
