Minister Seethakka instructs officials to ensure uninterrupted water supply

With Ugadi and Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka has directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply across villages during the festive period. The goal is to maintain a steady supply for at least three consecutive days.

During a review meeting at the Mission Bhagiratha office in Erra Manzil on Friday, Seethakka assessed district-wise water supply with senior engineers. She instructed officials to remain in the field at least four days a week to monitor and resolve supply issues effectively.

To improve coordination, mandal-level committees comprising MPDOs, Intra AEs, Grid AEs, and Mandal Special Officers have been formed. Additionally, a special budget has been allocated to handle emergencies.

Seethakka noted that ongoing Panchayati Raj roadworks, R&B projects, and electricity works are causing damage to Mission Bhagiratha pipelines, resulting in temporary disruptions. She directed officials to work closely with district collectors and work inspectors to safeguard pipelines during these activities.

The Minister also instructed officials to explore alternative solutions to water shortages, such as drilling borewells where groundwater is available. Thousands of previously neglected borewells have now been repaired and made operational.

Mission Bhagiratha officials have been urged to consult MLAs and take necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted water supply across all districts.
