Case Ordered Against BJP, AAP Leaders For Public Money 'Misuse', Cops Reply
FIR filed against Arvind Kejriwal and others over alleged misuse of public money
Complaint involves large hoardings installed in Delhi in 2019
Next hearing scheduled for April 18, 2025
Delhi Police informed a local court that an FIR has been registered against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and several other BJP and AAP leaders over alleged misuse of public money by erecting large hoardings in the national capital in 2019. The submission was made before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal.
The FIR was filed in compliance with the court's order dated March 11, 2025, following a complaint by Shiv Kumar Saxena. The complaint named multiple leaders, including Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma, former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, former MLA Gulab Singh, and then Dwarka councilor Nitika Sharma, alleging violation of the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act.
Delhi Police stated in its status report that the FIR was lodged on March 26, 2025, at Dwarka Police Station, and investigations are ongoing. Officials cited the age of the matter as a reason for seeking additional time to complete their inquiry.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for April 18, 2025, instructing the police to provide a detailed status report on their findings.
