A tragic incident took place in the Pedagadili Kondavalu area of Visakhapatnam district, where a mother killed her five-month-old baby due to frustration over her husband's constant suspicions.
Venkataramana and Sirisha were married in 2013. However, after their baby was born five months ago, Venkataramana began suspecting his wife and frequently harassed her. His doubts intensified, leading him to install a CCTV camera in the house to monitor her activities.
Deeply disturbed by the continuous suspicion, Sirisha smothered her sleeping baby with a pillow on the 13th of this month, causing suffocation. To cover up the crime, she took the child’s body to Tenneti Park beach and threw it into the sea. Later, she called her husband and claimed that the baby was swept away by a wave.
Venkataramana rushed the baby to a private hospital, where doctors declared the child dead. However, he grew suspicious of Sirisha and filed a police complaint. A post-mortem report confirmed suffocation as the cause of death. Upon investigation, Arilova police took Sirisha into custody, where she confessed to the crime, blaming her husband’s persistent doubts.
A murder case has been registered against Sirisha, and she has been arrested and remanded.
