Telugu States’ Chief Ministers Likely to Meet Soon
CMs Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy may hold fresh talks
Focus on unresolved bifurcation issues between AP and Telangana
Naidu reportedly initiated efforts for another round of discussions
In a significant development, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy are likely to meet soon to discuss unresolved issues stemming from the bifurcation of the Telugu states. While no official confirmation has been issued yet, reliable sources suggest that efforts are underway to arrange a meeting between the two leaders.
According to official sources, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has taken the initiative to resume talks on key division-related matters that remain unresolved even after a decade since the bifurcation of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh in 2014. The discussions are expected to focus on pending matters related to assets, institutions, and financial distributions mandated by the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
This will mark the second time the two Chief Ministers come together in their current tenures. Their first meeting took place in July 2024 at Praja Bhavan, where both leaders reportedly had a cordial discussion on several bifurcation-related issues and emphasized the need for mutual cooperation.
Sources said that in the earlier meeting, both Naidu and Revanth agreed that a decade was too long for legal obligations to remain unfulfilled and pledged to work together in the spirit of regional harmony. Now, with several issues still hanging in balance, Naidu is said to have expressed interest in re-engaging with Telangana leadership to find practical solutions.
While the meeting is expected to happen soon, there has been no official schedule released by either government so far. Officials close to the matter suggest that groundwork is being laid for a possible high-level dialogue in the coming days.
