BCCI’s Key Decision Post-Pahalgam Terror Attack: No More Bilateral Matches with Pakistan

BCCI vice-president confirms no future bilateral series with Pakistan

ICC regulations still require meetings at international events

BCCI secretary condemns Pahalgam terror attack, extends condolences

In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a significant decision. BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla announced that India will no longer play any bilateral cricket series with Pakistan.

Shukla emphasized that while India will no longer engage in bilateral series with Pakistan, the two teams are still required to meet in ICC events due to tournament regulations. He expressed strong support for the victims of the Pahalgam attack, condemning it as a barbaric act.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia also expressed deep shock and condemnation of the terrorist attack, sending condolences to the families of the victims. He stressed the BCCI’s solidarity with the victims and reiterated the board's firm stance against such acts of violence.

Since 2012-13, there have been no bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan, with the two teams only meeting in ICC events. India's decision to not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Champions Trophy further strained cricketing relations between the two countries.
