Good News for Ayyappa Devotees: TDB Begins Sale of Gold Lockets Online

Travancore Devasthanam Board launches sale of gold Ayyappa lockets

First online buyer of locket is a devotee from Andhra Pradesh

Lockets available in 2g, 4g, and 8g variants starting from ₹19,300

In a move that has delighted Ayyappa devotees across the country, the Travancore Devasthanam Board (TDB) has officially launched the sale of gold lockets bearing the image of Lord Ayyappa, recently unveiled at the Sabarimala temple. The initiative was inaugurated by Kerala Endowments Minister VN Vasavan on the auspicious occasion of Vishu.

The lockets, which are kept and worshipped in the sanctum sanctorum of the Sabarimala shrine, are now available for devotees to purchase online. The very first locket sold through this platform was received by a devotee from Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the wide reach and enthusiasm for this initiative.

According to the TDB, the gold lockets are being offered in three different weight variants. A two-gram locket is priced at ₹19,300, a four-gram locket at ₹38,600, and the eight-gram version is available for ₹77,200. The board stated that these lockets are not only sacred souvenirs but also symbols of devotion that have been sanctified through rituals at the holy shrine.

This step comes as part of the Devasthanam Board's efforts to enhance devotee services and make spiritual memorabilia accessible to Ayyappa followers, especially those unable to make the pilgrimage to Sabarimala.
