Lookout Notice Issued for Kakani Govardhan Reddy in ₹250 Cr Quartz Mining Case

Former minister Kakani evading arrest in illegal mining and transport case

Ignored police notices thrice; anticipatory bail plea dismissed by High Court

Police alert all airports and seaports to prevent his escape abroad

Former minister and YSRCP leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy is on the run after being named in a massive illegal quartz mining and transportation case. The police have registered a case against him involving unauthorized export of quartz and pulverizer materials worth over ₹250 crore, along with large-scale illegal use of explosives.

Despite being issued summons thrice to appear for inquiry, Kakani failed to respond. Following this, his anticipatory bail petition was dismissed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, while a separate quash petition has been postponed for two weeks. Police say his current whereabouts are unknown.

Alongside Kakani, four more accused in the case are absconding. In response, search operations have intensified across major cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

To prevent Kakani from fleeing the country, police have issued a lookout notice and alerted all airports and seaports. His details have been shared with immigration authorities nationwide as efforts continue to locate and apprehend him.

The case has drawn major public and political attention due to its scale and the involvement of high-profile individuals.
