MP Purandeswari Condemns Jagan's Remarks on Police, Demands Apology
BJP MP Purandeswari criticized YS Jagan for his objectionable comments on police personnel
She stated that police officers earn their jobs through merit and dedication
Demanded an immediate apology from Jagan to the entire police force, including 5,000 women officers
BJP State President and MP Daggubati Purandeswari strongly condemned former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent comments targeting the police department. Addressing the media, she expressed deep disapproval over Jagan’s remarks, stating that the police force works tirelessly to maintain law and order and deserves respect, not ridicule or threats.
Purandeswari emphasized that every police officer has earned their position through personal merit, rigorous training, and years of hard work, not through favors or political influence. She asserted that the integrity of the police must not be questioned for political gain, especially by those who have held positions of high responsibility.
“It is not acceptable for someone like Jagan to single out such officers and speak as if they should be punished or beaten,” she remarked. Purandeswari noted that comments of this nature can demoralize officers who risk their lives daily to ensure public safety. She highlighted that the Andhra Pradesh police force includes over 5,000 women officers, whose contributions are vital and commendable.
She firmly demanded that YS Jagan issue a public apology to the entire police force. “Insulting those who uphold the law is a dangerous precedent. Such irresponsible statements harm the morale of the department and shake the confidence of the people in law enforcement,” she added.
Purandeswari also reminded that the role of police is foundational in a democratic society, and politicians should be cautious in their words and actions. She reiterated BJP’s support for the police force and stated that the party stands by every officer working for the welfare and safety of citizens.
