Supreme Battle in Pithapuram: TDP vs Jana Sena Sparks Tensions

Nagababu inaugurates CC road

TDP-Jana Sainiks slogan war erupts

Clash between activists raises tension

The political heat in Pithapuram is reaching a boiling point as the contest between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena intensifies ahead of the upcoming elections. The latest flashpoint emerged in Kumarapuram village of Pithapuram mandal on Saturday, where Jana Sena MLC Nagababu inaugurated a CC road.

What began as a public infrastructure event quickly turned into a political showdown. Large groups of Jana Sainiks gathered at the event, raising slogans in support of Nagababu and party chief Pawan Kalyan. In response, TDP supporters raised counter-slogans, leading to a tense atmosphere. The scene reflected the fierce battle underway between the two major alliance partners turned electoral rivals in this key constituency.

The situation escalated into a minor clash between the party workers, prompting local police to intervene and disperse the crowd. While no injuries were reported, the incident has raised concerns about the possibility of further unrest as political activity picks up pace.

Pithapuram has taken centre stage in Andhra Pradesh politics, with Pawan Kalyan’s candidature from the constituency drawing national attention. The TDP, which is contesting in alliance with Jana Sena across the state, is seeing local-level friction in select constituencies like Pithapuram where both parties have strong presence and ambitions.

Local leaders from both camps have appealed to their supporters to maintain peace and focus on constructive campaigning. However, with both sides vying to assert dominance, especially in symbolic locations like Kumarapuram, more such flashpoints are anticipated in the coming weeks.

The police are on high alert, and the district administration has been instructed to closely monitor future political gatherings to prevent further escalation.
