Sri Ram Navami Brahmotsavams to Begin in Ontimitta from Today

The sacred Sri Ram Navami Brahmotsavams at the historic Sri Kodanda Ramalayam in Ontimitta, YSR Kadapa district, are set to commence this evening with religious fervour and grandeur. The week-long festivities will begin with the ceremonial inauguration and special rituals by temple priests.

On Sunday, the traditional Dwajarohanam (flag hoisting) ceremony will be conducted to formally mark the beginning of the Brahmotsavams, which attract thousands of devotees each year. The highlight of the celebrations — the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita, known as Kalyanotsavam — will be held on the 11th of this month in a grand and divine manner.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will present Pattu Vastrams (silk garments) to the deities on behalf of the state government, continuing the tradition followed during major temple festivals. Special arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the celebrations, with tight security and facilities in place for visiting devotees.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is overseeing the entire Brahmotsavam schedule, ensuring that all rituals are carried out as per Agama traditions. Cultural programmes, devotional concerts, and Annadanam will be organized daily throughout the festivities.

Devotees and pilgrims from across Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states are expected to participate in large numbers to seek the blessings of Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy during the auspicious celebrations.
