Show-cause notice to be issued to Ramanaidu Studio: Collector Harendhira Prasad
Land misused for residential layout
Govt to take back land if reply unsatisfactory
Studio violated land-use terms
Visakhapatnam District Collector A. Mallikarjuna Harendhira Prasad announced that a show-cause notice will be issued to Ramanaidu Studio for violating the conditions under which government land was allotted. The Collector stated that the land, originally granted for the purpose of developing a film studio, has instead been converted into a residential layout.
Speaking to the media, the Collector said that a preliminary inquiry revealed the misuse of the land, and appropriate action will be taken. “The land given to Ramanaidu Studio was meant to promote film production and related activities. However, it has been used for purposes contrary to the original allotment,” he noted.
He made it clear that if the studio authorities fail to provide a valid explanation in response to the notice, the government will initiate steps to take possession of the land. “We will not hesitate to reclaim the land if the reply is not satisfactory,” Harendhira Prasad warned.
The move follows a broader government initiative to review the usage of land allotted to private entities under special concessions. Authorities are now scrutinizing whether such lands are being utilized as intended, especially in cases where deviations from the original purpose are suspected.
This development has created a buzz in the local real estate and film industry circles, with more details expected to emerge based on the studio’s response to the upcoming notice.
