In a major infrastructural boost, the Central Government has proposed a new connectivity project aimed at linking Gadchiroli in Maharashtra with key ports in Andhra Pradesh, including Kakinada, Gangavaram, and Visakhapatnam.
The ambitious plan involves creating a river link via the Wainganga River to Kakinada, enhancing waterway connectivity between the two states. Additionally, new greenfield roads will be constructed to facilitate smoother and faster transportation of goods.
Officials have indicated that this project will significantly enhance trade and economic activities between Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, benefiting industries and communities along the route.
The initiative is expected to provide better connectivity for exports through the strategically important ports of Kakinada, Gangavaram, and Visakhapatnam, thereby boosting regional economic growth.
