Case Filed Against Bhumana Karunakar Reddy Over Remarks on TTD Cowshed
SVU police in Tirupati book case based on complaint by TTD member Bhanu Prakash
Bhumana accused of making false claims about SV Gaushala, hurting devotees' sentiments
Case registered under BNS Sections 353(1), 299, and 74
Former TTD chairman and YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy finds himself at the center of controversy after the Tirupati SVU police registered a case against him. The complaint was filed by TTD board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy, who accused Bhumana of spreading false allegations against the sacred SV Gaushala, causing distress among devotees.
According to Bhanu Prakash, Bhumana made baseless claims suggesting that the SV Gaushala, known for its religious sanctity, had been converted into a slaughterhouse. Bhanu strongly refuted these statements and demanded legal action, stating that such remarks were not only factually incorrect but also deeply hurtful to the sentiments of devotees associated with the Tirumala temple.
The complaint also mentioned the alleged death of 100 cows in the Gaushala, which Bhanu said was being politicized by Bhumana for personal and political gain. He submitted the complaint to District SP Harsha Vardhan Raju, urging immediate legal proceedings.
Acting on the complaint, the SVU police have registered a case against Bhumana under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 353(1) (provoking breach of peace), 299 (causing hurt), and 74 (defamation-related provisions). The case is expected to stir political debate as the matter involves both religious sensitivity and political rivalry.
Police officials are likely to summon Bhumana for questioning as part of the investigation. The incident has sparked a fresh row between TTD board members and former officials, especially in the lead-up to crucial political developments in the state.
