Minister Konda Surekha accuses KCR of betraying farmers through the Dharani portal

KCR Misled Farmers with Dharani: Minister Konda Surekha Slams Previous Government

Claims assigned lands were seized and farmers struggled to obtain pattas

Assures that under current government, officials will visit farmers directly to resolve land issues

Minister Konda Surekha has strongly criticized former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, alleging that the Dharani portal introduced by the previous government was a tool to deceive farmers rather than support them. Speaking to the media, she accused the BRS regime of turning a blind eye to the struggles of land-owning farmers.

“The previous government threw mud at the mouth of the farmer who was giving rice,” said Minister Surekha, slamming KCR's governance for its alleged failure in protecting agricultural rights. She highlighted how the introduction of Dharani led to large-scale grabbing of assigned lands, pushing genuine farmers into bureaucratic hurdles just to secure their rightful pattas.

Surekha stated that farmers, instead of receiving support, were forced to run from pillar to post, pleading with officials for land title deeds. The process, she said, was deliberately made complicated, causing immense distress to small and marginal farmers across the state.

In contrast, the Minister assured that the current government is committed to a farmer-friendly approach. “Now, farmers will not have such difficulties,” she said, declaring that under the new system, revenue officials will proactively visit the homes of farmers and resolve land-related issues directly, eliminating the need for repeated office visits and long waits.

This assurance marks a significant shift in administrative style, aimed at restoring faith among the agrarian community and correcting the past mistakes in land management and transparency.
