Vallabhaneni Vamsi's Bail Plea Hearing Postponed to April 17th

District court postpones hearing in Satyavardhan kidnapping case

Patamata police file counter opposing bail

Vamsi remains in remand at Vijayawada District Jail

In a key development in the Satyavardhan kidnapping case, the Vijayawada District Court has postponed the bail plea hearing of former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi to the 17th of this month. Vamsi, who is currently lodged in Vijayawada District Jail under judicial remand, is facing serious charges related to the abduction of Satyavardhan.

The Patamata police submitted a counter affidavit opposing the bail, citing the gravity of the allegations and ongoing investigation. The police stated that granting bail at this stage could hamper the probe and potentially influence witnesses involved in the case.

Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested last week and produced before the court, after which he was sent to remand. The case has attracted significant attention due to Vamsi’s political stature and the nature of the charges filed.

Supporters of Vamsi gathered outside the court premises on Monday, demanding a fair trial and claiming that the case is politically motivated. Meanwhile, the opposition parties have called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.

The next hearing on April 17 is expected to be crucial in determining whether Vamsi will be granted interim relief or remain behind bars during the ongoing trial.
