Centre to Launch Multilingual e-Governance Solution for Grievance Redressal
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has announced a collaboration with Digital India Bhashini to introduce a multimodal, multilingual e-Governance solution for the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS). The initiative aims to make grievance lodging more accessible and efficient by supporting 22 regional languages.
The multilingual interface will enable citizens to file grievances on the CPGRAMS portal through voice inputs in their regional language, enhancing accessibility and user-friendliness. The solution is expected to go live by July 2025.
According to the government, this integration of Bhashini with CPGRAMS will establish a framework for a more inclusive and responsive governance system. The initiative follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directives to improve grievance redressal systems and make them more sensitive and accessible.
Between November 2022 and February 2025, over 56 lakh grievances were redressed under CPGRAMS. Of the 52,36,844 grievances received during this period, 56,63,849 were disposed of, as stated by Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh in the Lok Sabha.
Citizens can file grievances through 5.1 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the country. As of February 28, 2025, the pendency of public grievances in central ministries and departments stood at 59,946 cases, while states and union territories addressed 50,088 grievances in February alone.
