Union Minister Kishan Reddy Condemns Attack on Chilkur Temple Chief Priest Rangarajan
Hyderabad, February 11, 2025 – Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Kishan Reddy, has strongly condemned the recent attack on Rangarajan, the chief priest of the Chilkur Balaji Temple.
In a post shared on social media platform X, Reddy expressed his outrage, calling the assault "inhumane, deplorable, and unfortunate."
Reddy praised Rangarajan for his unwavering commitment to Sanatana Dharma and for his selfless dedication to providing spiritual guidance to devotees. He highlighted that Rangarajan had voluntarily stepped down from high-ranking positions to focus on his spiritual duties and maintain the sanctity of religious traditions. The Minister emphasized that Rangarajan’s contributions to preserving temple traditions and guiding the youth on a spiritual path are invaluable to the community and to India’s cultural heritage.
Describing the attack as an affront not only to the priest but to Sanatana Dharma itself, Reddy expressed his belief that such acts of violence, intimidation, and threats have no place in a democratic society. He called on society to unite in condemning the incident, stressing that such actions must not go unpunished.
The Minister urged authorities to take swift and strict action against those responsible, emphasizing the need for measures that would prevent similar incidents in the future. He reassured that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands firmly behind Rangarajan, offering its full support to the priest in the wake of the attack.
Kishan Reddy’s strong condemnation highlights the importance of upholding religious values and ensuring the safety and dignity of religious leaders in the country.
