Paris, February 10, 2025Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Monday to co-chair the highly anticipated AI Action Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.

The summit, scheduled to bring together global leaders and tech CEOs, will focus on the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with discussions aimed at fostering innovation, ethical development, and collaboration in the field.

PM Modi landed at Orly Airport and was welcomed as part of his official visit to France, which also includes important bilateral talks with President Macron. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the two leaders will assess the progress made under the 2047 Horizon Roadmap, which outlines plans to deepen the strategic partnership between India and France.

Before his departure, PM Modi expressed his eagerness to engage with global leaders and tech industry giants at the summit. He emphasized that the discussions would focus on a collaborative approach to AI, ensuring that the technology serves the public good in an inclusive, secure, and trustworthy manner.

“I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit and driving discussions on Artificial Intelligence that prioritizes innovation while addressing ethical concerns,” PM Modi stated.

Additionally, PM Modi’s visit includes several key initiatives. He will inaugurate India’s first Consulate in France in the historic city of Marseille, and visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a vital project aimed at harnessing fusion energy for global benefit. India is a key member of the ITER consortium, and PM Modi’s visit underscores India’s growing role in global energy initiatives.

The Prime Minister will also pay his respects at the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille, honoring Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the World Wars, highlighting the strong historical bond between India and France.

In addition to the Paris visit, PM Modi is scheduled to travel to the United States for a two-day visit following his European leg. He will meet with President Donald Trump to continue strengthening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The visit will focus on key areas such as technology, trade, defense, energy, and supply chain resilience.

“We will work together to shape a better, more prosperous future for our nations and the world,” PM Modi said, looking ahead to the U.S. trip.

With his visit to France and the U.S., PM Modi is set to bolster India’s international ties and pave the way for enhanced collaboration across technology, defense, and energy sectors.
