India-Israel Talks on Strengthening Economic Ties Set for Tomorrow

New Delhi, February 10, 2025 – The India-Israel Business Forum and the India-Israel CEO Forum will convene in New Delhi on Tuesday, February 11, aiming to deepen economic ties, boost trade, and explore investment opportunities between the two nations.

These forums are expected to be pivotal in enhancing collaboration in sectors such as technology, manufacturing, defense, and healthcare.

The meetings will bring together top business leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from both countries to discuss new avenues for economic cooperation, technological innovation, and trade expansion. The Commerce and Industry Ministry has announced that the forums will be held under the leadership of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and in partnership with the Embassy of Israel and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The India-Israel Business Forum will focus on expanding trade relationships and fostering cross-sector collaborations. A key highlight will be the participation of a high-level Israeli business delegation led by Nir M. Barkat, Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry. The delegation includes prominent Israeli enterprises and representatives from diverse sectors, including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, agri-tech, food processing, defense, water management, logistics, and retail.

The forum will feature an inaugural session followed by panel discussions and B2B meetings, providing a platform for joint ventures, investments, and knowledge-sharing between Indian and Israeli business leaders. Discussions will revolve around sectoral growth, technological advancement, and innovation-driven partnerships, highlighting the India-Israel strategic economic alliance.

In parallel, the India-Israel CEO Forum, organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), will serve as an exclusive gathering for senior executives and policymakers. This high-level platform will address investment opportunities, policy frameworks, emerging business trends, and technology collaboration in key sectors such as AI, smart manufacturing, cybersecurity, and clean energy.

Key areas of engagement include expanding defense and security partnerships, focusing on defense technology, cybersecurity, and homeland security solutions. Additionally, healthcare collaborations will emphasize medical research, pharmaceutical trade, and biotech investments, while agriculture will benefit from Israeli expertise in precision agriculture and sustainable farming solutions.

Bilateral trade between India and Israel has grown steadily, diversifying beyond traditional sectors like diamonds and precious metals into engineering goods, electronics, defense, and agricultural products. Israeli investments in India are expanding in renewable energy, water technology, and manufacturing, while Indian companies have made significant strides in pharmaceuticals, IT, and infrastructure within Israel.

Both forums align with the long-term vision of India and Israel to foster stronger economic partnerships, encourage foreign direct investment (FDI), and expand joint ventures and technological collaborations. The events will also support trade by facilitating policy reforms and establishing new agreements between the two nations.

These forums are poised to play a crucial role in fortifying the economic relationship between India and Israel and charting a path toward sustained growth and cooperation across multiple sectors.
