Tension flared up once again at Hyderabad Central University (HCU) as a large group of students staged a protest demanding the protection of 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli. The students gathered at the university's main gate, raising slogans against the Congress government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, calling for an immediate halt to the sale of the land.
The protesters, who are opposed to the sale of the valuable land, voiced their concerns over its potential loss to private interests. As the protest gained momentum, leaders from BJYM, ABVP, and Left parties attempted to enter the university to show their solidarity, but they were met with resistance from the police. The police quickly shut the main gates of the university and detained several protesters, taking them to local police stations.
The protest and the heavy police presence have escalated tensions around the ongoing dispute, with students and political groups calling for the government to protect the land and stop any attempts to sell it.
