Telangana Police Flies to Delhi to Arrest a Common Man
In a scene reminiscent of the movie "Singam," 11 Telangana police officers reportedly flew to Delhi to arrest a common man in a controversial case. The incident involves Congress leader Teegala Krishna Reddy and a youth, Nag Nandeeshwar Reddy, who were embroiled in a personal dispute.
Initially, Nag Nandeeshwar Reddy filed a complaint against Teegala Krishna Reddy at a local police station. However, reports suggest that Teegala later used his influence to register a counter-case against Nandeeshwar at Meerpet police station. Following this, a team of 11 officers from three police stations flew to Delhi to take Nandeeshwar into custody.
According to Nandeeshwar Reddy, the police entered his house without wearing uniforms or badges and without serving any prior notice. Allegedly, they did not provide a reason for his arrest and attempted to detain him unlawfully.
When Nandeeshwar approached the Saket Court in Delhi, the court reprimanded the Telangana police for attempting an arrest without issuing proper notices. He further filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court, alleging wrongful arrest and misuse of power by the police at the behest of Teegala Krishna Reddy. The court has now directed the Telangana DGP to respond within six weeks.
Nandeeshwar Reddy has also expressed concerns for his safety, alleging that the police are being used as tools by Teegala Krishna Reddy to settle personal scores. The case has raised questions about the misuse of power and the conduct of law enforcement.
