In the aftermath of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, the Telangana government has taken swift action to assist tourists from the state who are currently stranded in Jammu and Kashmir. Minister for Excise and Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao announced that dedicated helpline numbers have been activated to provide immediate support and ensure their safe return.
The Telangana government is working in coordination with Telangana Bhavan officials in Delhi and central government agencies to track and assist all tourists from the state. Minister Jupally stressed that necessary steps are being taken to bring them back to their homes safely. He urged travel agencies and tour operators to promptly submit complete details of all Telangana tourists currently visiting Jammu and Kashmir.
The minister also advised stranded tourists and their families to reach out through the official helpline numbers: 9440816071, 9010659333, and landline 040-23450368. These lines will remain open for any information, updates, or emergency support required during this crisis.
Jupally Krishna Rao emphasized the government's commitment to the safety and well-being of every Telangana resident and said the situation is being closely monitored. He appealed to the public to remain calm and stay in touch with officials if their family members are on tour in Kashmir. The Tourism Department is in constant touch with tour organizers to ensure that no group is left behind or unaccounted for.
Following the tragic attack that targeted a tourist vehicle in Pahalgam, where several civilians lost their lives, multiple state governments across the country have launched efforts to locate and assist their residents. Telangana’s prompt response and the establishment of communication channels is expected to provide much-needed relief to affected families and help streamline the evacuation process.
