Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Orders Grand Arrangements for Godavari and Krishna Pushkaralu
Hyderabad, Jan 30: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to make grand arrangements for the upcoming Godavari and Krishna Pushkaralu, ensuring that the state attracts devotees and tourists from across the country.
During a high-level review meeting held today, the Chief Minister instructed officials to finalize Telangana’s new tourism policy by February 10, with a strong emphasis on eco-tourism and temple tourism.
Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan
Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for a world-class tourism policy that would enhance Telangana’s appeal among domestic and international tourists. Key directives from the meeting include:
1. Boosting Religious and Eco-Tourism
- The Revenue, Forest, and Tourism Departments will collaborate to attract pilgrims during the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, one of the largest tribal festivals in the country.
- A special tourism circuit will be developed, linking temples and tourist attractions near the Jatara site to facilitate religious tourism.
2. Strengthening Eco-Tourism in Key Locations
- Telangana will enhance eco-tourism infrastructure in Adilabad, Warangal, and Nagarjuna Sagar to promote nature tourism.
- Officials have been instructed to study Singapore’s eco-tourism model for potential adoption in Telangana.
3. Urban Tourism Development in Hyderabad
- The Chief Minister proposed the development of a tourism circuit linking Indira Park, Sanjeevaiah Park, and NTR Park in the vicinity of Hussain Sagar Lake, aiming to create a vibrant tourist attraction in the heart of Hyderabad.
