Six Arrested in Suryapet Honor Killing Case

Suryapet, Jan 30 – In a shocking honor killing case in Suryapet district, police have arrested six individuals, including family members of the victim's wife.

The accused include Bhargavi's brothers, Naveen and Vamshi, their father Saidulu, and grandmother Buchamma, along with two accomplices, Bairi Mahesh and Sai Charan.

The victim, Vadlakonda Krishna, had married Bhargavi six months ago against her family’s wishes. Investigators revealed that Krishna had been receiving death threats from his in-laws for some time. On Monday, his body was discovered near the Pillalamarri canal bund.

Murder Planned for Months

Police confirmed that Bhargavi’s family had been plotting Krishna’s murder for two months. Initially, they attempted to execute their plan on January 19, but it was postponed. On Sunday night, the accused finally carried out the killing at a farmland near Janagam Cross Road in Suryapet.

After the murder, the suspects allegedly transported Krishna’s body in a car, driving around until dawn, before abandoning it near the Musi canal bund in Pillalamarri and fleeing.

Suryapet police have taken all six accused into custody and are further investigating the case. Authorities have vowed strict legal action against those responsible, calling the incident a heinous crime driven by regressive beliefs.
