Cyberabad CP VC Sajjanar expresses deep concern over suicides linked to online betting platforms
Urges youth not to take impulsive decisions during moments of hardship
Says there are “a thousand reasons to live” and achieve rather than giving up
Cyberabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar has taken to social media with an emotional and powerful message urging the public, especially youth, to refrain from ending their lives over setbacks caused by betting and gambling apps. In a post shared on X, he posed a poignant question: “What do you achieve by taking your precious life in a moment of impulse when faced with hardship?”
Sajjanar’s remarks come at a time when increasing reports have emerged of individuals falling victim to financial distress and psychological pressure due to addiction to betting apps. These platforms, often promising easy money, have pushed several young individuals into debt, despair, and ultimately, tragic ends.
Calling for a shift in mindset, Sajjanar emphasized the importance of hope and resilience. “There is only one reason to die, but a thousand reasons to live,” he wrote, urging those facing struggles to believe in better days ahead. His appeal reflects a growing concern among law enforcement about the silent mental health crisis being fueled by digital gambling platforms.
Reinforcing the message further, he stated, “No to suicides… Living and achieving is the way to go.” The senior officer’s words aim to inspire confidence among the youth, encouraging them to seek support, focus on their goals, and rise above temporary challenges.
The Cyberabad Police have been consistently cautioning the public against betting apps, conducting awareness drives and encouraging victims to come forward. Sajjanar’s public statement now adds a compassionate and personal touch to the ongoing efforts, highlighting the importance of choosing life, no matter how difficult the circumstances may seem.
