A man who sustained severe injuries in the Tank Bund boat accident succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital. Medical authorities confirmed his death on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on January 26 during a Republic Day event led by Union Minister Kishan Reddy at People's Plaza near Tank Bund.
As part of the event, a ceremonial "Bharat Mata Harathi" was organized, followed by a fireworks display later in the evening. Tragically, one of the boats carrying fireworks caught fire, resulting in a devastating accident.
Ganapati, who suffered 80% burns in the fire, was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad, where he passed away during treatment. Another individual involved in the incident remains missing, with search efforts still ongoing.
This unfortunate accident has drawn attention to safety protocols during public events, raising concerns about proper precautions and emergency measures.
