J&K Govt Announces Compensation for Pahalgam Terror Attack Victims

₹10 lakh ex-gratia for families of deceased victims

₹2 lakh for those seriously injured, ₹1 lakh for minor injuries

Move aimed at providing immediate relief amid nationwide outrage

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced financial compensation for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives and left several others injured. As per the official notification, the families of those who lost their lives will receive ₹10 lakh each as ex-gratia compensation.

Additionally, individuals who suffered serious injuries in the attack will be given ₹2 lakh each, while those with minor injuries will receive ₹1 lakh.

The state government's decision comes in the wake of national condemnation of the brutal attack, which targeted tourists in the scenic Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam. Officials stated that this immediate financial aid is aimed at offering some relief to the affected families as they grapple with the aftermath of the tragedy.

The government also assured that all necessary support, including medical care for the injured and transportation for the deceased, is being provided on priority.
