‘Incredible Milestone’: PM Modi Congratulates ISRO on Its 100th Launch

New Delhi, Jan 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for achieving its 100th launch, calling it an “incredible milestone” in India’s space journey.

“Congratulations to @isro on the historic 100th launch!” PM Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledging the efforts of Indian scientists and engineers in advancing space exploration.

“With the private sector joining hands, India’s space journey will continue to attain new heights,” he added.

ISRO's 100th Launch – A Historic Feat

ISRO successfully launched its 100th GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle) rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, marking a significant moment in India’s space achievements.

The GSLV-F15 rocket lifted off at 6:23 a.m., carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite into its designated orbit. This mission further strengthened India's navigation capabilities and demonstrated the nation's growing prowess in space technology.

Announcing the success, ISRO shared on social media:
"LIFTOFF! The GSLV-F15 has successfully taken flight, carrying NVS-02 into its planned orbit. Stay tuned for more mission updates!"

Key Highlights of the GSLV-F15 Mission:

  • 17th mission of the GSLV program
  • 11th successful mission using an indigenous cryogenic stage
  • 8th operational flight of GSLV featuring the indigenous cryogenic upper stage
  • 100th rocket launch from Sriharikota

ISRO's Ambitious Future Plans

Following the successful launch, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan emphasized the agency’s future vision.

"Today we have achieved a historic milestone. The 100th launch of ISRO has been successfully executed, thanks to the hard work and teamwork of Team ISRO," he stated.

Setting an ambitious target, Narayanan revealed that ISRO aims to launch 100 more missions in the next five years, demonstrating India’s rapid advancements in the space sector.

With increased private sector participation, ISRO is set to push India's space exploration to new frontiers, reaffirming the country’s position as a global leader in space technology.
