According to party sources, the leaders detailed the gravity of the situation to the Home Minister and emphasized the need for the Centre to act decisively against terrorism. They denounced the targeting of innocent tourists as a cowardly act aimed at disturbing national peace and unity.
Rahul Gandhi and Kharge urged Amit Shah to stand with the families of those killed and injured in the attack. They appealed for immediate relief measures and the assurance of speedy justice to the victims.
The Congress leadership also extended support to the central government in all measures aimed at eradicating terrorism from the region. They stressed that unity across party lines was crucial in dealing with such threats to national security.
