TPN ,Hyderabad : In a significant boost to Telangana, the Central Government has announced an additional incentive of ₹176.5 crore under the *Special Financial Investment Assistance to States 2024-2025 Scheme* of the National Road Transport Department. The assistance is granted for achieving key milestones in transport management.
Telangana has qualified for ₹125 crore and ₹51.5 crore under *Milestone 1* and *Milestone 2, respectively. Additionally, the state is eligible for ₹50 crore under the **Motor Vehicle Tax Concession* scheme.
As part of *Milestone 2, Telangana has submitted a plan for scrapping transport vehicles older than 15 years. Under this initiative, ₹75 crore has been sanctioned. Furthermore, out of Telangana’s total districts, **21 priority districts* have been allocated *₹31.5 crore, while **non-priority districts* will receive *₹20 crore*, bringing the total incentive amount to ₹50.5 crore.
This funding will enhance Telangana’s transport infrastructure, aid in vehicle modernization, and provide financial relief to the state. The initiative aligns with the Central Government’s efforts to promote sustainable and efficient transport systems across India.
