NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Meets Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati, February 7, 2025: NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery and his team met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday morning to discuss the state’s economic situation and development strategies. The meeting, held at the AP Secretariat, was also attended by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav.
Key Discussion Points
During the meeting, officials reportedly deliberated on:
- The current financial condition of Andhra Pradesh, including the fiscal deficit and budget constraints.
- The state’s long-term development roadmap, titled ‘Vision 2047’, aimed at achieving sustainable growth.
- Funding challenges for welfare and development programs, including the much-publicized "Super Six Guarantees" announced by the government.
Concerns Over Budget Deficit
Sources suggest that the AP government is facing a financial crunch, making it difficult to allocate sufficient funds for welfare schemes and infrastructure projects. The discussion focused on securing additional central support and exploring financial strategies to boost state revenues.
With AP aiming for rapid economic growth, the collaboration with NITI Aayog is expected to help the state navigate financial challenges and implement effective governance strategies.
