Minister Nara Lokesh Introduces ‘No Bag Day’ Every Saturday in Schools

Amaravati, Jan 29: Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has announced a ‘No Bag Day’ initiative in all schools every Saturday, aiming to reduce students' burden and encourage co-curricular activities. He has directed education officials to implement this initiative immediately.
During a review meeting on school and intermediate education, Lokesh highlighted the need for holistic learning. He emphasized that students should have a day dedicated to interactive and creative activities rather than regular academic lessons.
Key Announcements:
- Integrated Teacher App: The minister instructed officials to develop a single integrated application for teachers, replacing multiple apps currently in use.
- APAAR ID Integration: Lokesh stressed the importance of linking the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID to accurately track student numbers.
- GO 117 Review: He directed officials to gather feedback from teachers and associations before finalizing the withdrawal of Government Order 117.
- Preventing Dropouts: Officials were asked to create a strategy ensuring zero dropouts in schools.
- AP Education Blueprint: A new education model for Andhra Pradesh is being drafted for public consultation.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of educational reform, prioritizing student well-being and innovative learning methods.
