East Godavari Leads with 80% Registration in Farmer Registry

IAS Agriculture Director Dilli Rao appreciates Collector Smt. Prashanthi's efforts.

State aims to achieve 75% registration by covering 3 lakh farmers in two days.

Rs 182 crore central assistance contingent upon achieving registration target.

State Agriculture Director Dilli Rao IAS held a teleconference on Saturday with all district agriculture officers to review the progress of the farmer registry's unique number registration process. He emphasized that completing 75% of the registration would make the state eligible to receive Rs 182 crore as the third tranche of special central assistance.

So far, 42 lakh farmers have been registered, achieving 71% completion. The remaining 3 lakh farmers must be registered to reach the 75% target. East Godavari district leads the state with 80% registration, followed by Kurnool and Srikakulam districts at 78% each. However, Nellore, Ananthapuram, and Alluri Seetharamaraj districts remain at the bottom due to various challenges.

Officials cited issues such as joint land parcel LPMs, joint accounts under the same survey number, D-pattas, re-survey villages, land conversions, and NRIs as factors contributing to the registration delays. Additionally, West Godavari's focus on aqua farming and difficulties in identifying farmers in Nellore district have also slowed progress.

Dilli Rao urged officials to scientifically analyze the obstacles and expedite the registration process in 82 mandals where at least 50% of the process remains incomplete.
