AP Police Issue Fresh Notices to Ram Gopal Varma
Amaravati, Jan 29: Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has once again received notices from Andhra Pradesh police regarding a case related to his objectionable social media posts about Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and current CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh.
The Ongole Rural Police in Prakasam district served the notices via WhatsApp, summoning him for questioning on February 4.
However, sources indicate that Varma has informed the police that he will be busy with a film shoot on the given date and is considering appearing for questioning on February 7.
Earlier, the police had issued two prior notices, but Varma failed to appear for questioning. In response, he approached the High Court, which granted him anticipatory bail while directing him to cooperate with the investigation and attend questioning when summoned.
Following the court’s directive, the police have now issued fresh notices reiterating the summons. It remains to be seen whether Varma will comply with this latest notice or seek further legal options.
