Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Holds Key Meeting with Bankers, Discusses State Development Plans

Hyderabad, February 11, 2025 – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu chaired an important State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting today, where he discussed a range of critical issues aimed at advancing the state's economic growth and development.

The meeting, which was attended by several state ministers and senior government officials, focused on several initiatives and policies designed to foster progress across multiple sectors.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the discussion on the Viksit Andhra Pradesh initiative, part of the broader Swarnandhra Vision Document 2047, which aims to transform the state into a developed region by the year 2047. CM Naidu emphasized the need for the banking sector to align itself with this vision and collaborate with the government to drive sustainable growth.

The meeting also highlighted the P4 Policy and its importance in supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Naidu encouraged bankers to provide greater financial backing to MSMEs, especially in rural areas, to stimulate local economies and create jobs. Additionally, there was a strong emphasis on agricultural loans, with a particular focus on horticulture and natural farming, which Naidu identified as crucial components of the state’s agricultural future.

Other significant schemes discussed during the meeting included the PM SVANidhi scheme, designed to support street vendors, and the Stand-Up India initiative, which aims to promote entrepreneurship among women and marginalized groups. Naidu also urged bankers to provide funding for housing projects under TIDCO, a key step towards improving urban infrastructure and welfare in the state.

In his address, the Chief Minister called on banking officials to cooperate with investigative agencies in examining potential financial irregularities from the previous government’s tenure. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in ensuring that the banking sector supports the state’s development goals effectively.

Furthermore, Naidu underscored the need for expanding banking networks in rural areas to promote financial inclusion and ensure that farmers and underserved populations have access to the resources they need for their livelihoods.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from the banking sector to support the state’s Vision 2047 development strategy, particularly in advancing the welfare of farmers and other key sectors.

With these discussions, Chief Minister Naidu has laid the groundwork for a more collaborative approach between the government and the banking sector, signaling a strong push towards economic progress and accountability for Andhra Pradesh's future.
