Ambati Rambabu Counters Chandrababu Over Financial Constraints in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada, Jan 28: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) senior leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu strongly criticized TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu’s recent remarks regarding Andhra Pradesh's financial condition and welfare schemes.

Taking to the platform X (formerly Twitter), Rambabu quipped, “No wealth creation, not even sampenga flowers. Chandrababu and Lokesh have abandoned their responsibilities and placed the burden on Jagan. Promises have been left hanging. Govinda, Govinda!”

Rambabu alleged that Chandrababu Naidu’s statements about financial constraints were an excuse to evade implementing welfare schemes. He further accused Naidu of misleading the public and claimed that the TDP failed to manage the state’s finances during its tenure.

Chandrababu Naidu’s Remarks

Chandrababu Naidu recently highlighted the financial challenges facing Andhra Pradesh, suggesting that the state’s economy is in worse condition than Bihar’s. Speaking on the allocation of central government funds for major projects like the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Amaravati, and Polavaram, Naidu stated that these funds cannot be diverted for other purposes.

Naidu also explained that welfare schemes, including Talli Ki Vandanam (₹15,000 for each student) and Annadata Sukhibhava (₹20,000 for farmers), would resume once the state’s financial situation improves. He reassured the public that these delays were temporary and linked to the current economic climate.

YSRCP’s Counter

In response, Rambabu dismissed Naidu's statements as political rhetoric. He reiterated that the YSRCP government under Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy remains committed to welfare programs despite financial constraints. Rambabu accused the previous TDP government of poor financial management, which he claimed had led to the current economic challenges in Andhra Pradesh.

The debate between the YSRCP and TDP reflects the broader political tussle over financial governance and public welfare in the state. With both parties preparing for the upcoming elections, these issues are expected to dominate the political narrative in Andhra Pradesh.
