The Punjagutta Police in Hyderabad have filed cases against 11 YouTubers and social media influencers for promoting illegal betting applications. The accused, including popular YouTubers Vishnupriya, Suprita, Imran Khan (Pareshan Boys), Harsha Sai, Rithu Chowdhary, and Tasty Teja, are alleged to have endorsed these apps to increase views and revenue.
The police investigation revealed that these influencers were promoting online betting platforms, leading to their involvement in illegal activities. These YouTubers allegedly received payments for promoting the apps, which is in violation of gaming laws. In addition to the aforementioned influencers, other individuals, including anchor Shyamala, Sunny Yadav, Sudheer, and several others, have also been named in the case.
The charges against the accused include violating the Telangana Gaming Act, Sections 3 and 4, and Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, which deals with fraud and online crimes. The Punjagutta Police are currently conducting further investigations to determine the full extent of the illegal activities.
