The Indian government acted promptly to assist Myanmar, which suffered a devastating earthquake on Friday, causing significant loss of life and property. Hundreds of people were left homeless, prompting India to send 15 tons of relief materials to support the affected population.
A plane carrying food, medicines, blankets, tents, water purifiers, solar lamps, and generators departed from the Hindon Air Force Station on Saturday morning. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that essential medicines were also dispatched to treat those injured in the collapse of large buildings.
The plane landed at Yangon Airport around 9 am on Saturday, as tweeted by Indian diplomat Randhir Jaiswal. He described the delivery as part of India's humanitarian aid effort, assuring that further assistance would be provided as needed.
India’s quick response underscores its commitment to supporting Myanmar during this challenging time.
