KTR Slams Congress Over Loan Waiver, Calls Out Broken Promises
KTR criticizes Congress for false promises
Accuses government of betraying farmers
Questions Rahul Gandhi over Warangal Declaration
BRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) has launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of deceiving farmers with false promises. Taking to social media, KTR criticized the Congress leadership for failing to fulfill its commitments, particularly on the issue of farm loan waivers.
Referring to Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao’s statement in the Assembly regarding loan waivers, KTR alleged that the Congress had misled farmers by initially promising a complete waiver but now imposing restrictions. "They said they would waive all loans above ₹2 lakh, but now they are backtracking. Is this the 'Indira Gandhi Rajya' they promised?" KTR questioned.
He further attacked Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of betraying Telangana’s farmers. "Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Telangana is burning with anger over your broken promises. Apologies won’t help now," KTR tweeted.
Criticizing the Congress for its election tactics, KTR said, "They made 420 false promises just to gain power. Now, after securing votes and filling their pockets, they have abandoned their commitments." He also claimed that the Warangal Declaration—Congress’s key promise document—had been violated in the Assembly itself.
With tensions rising over the government’s handling of loan waivers, the issue is expected to remain a major point of contention in Telangana’s political landscape.
